Shubman Gill Declared Fit: Big Boost for India Ahead of T20I Series Against South Africa
Shubman Gill Declared Fit -
India’s ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill is ready to return to the field after fully recovering from the neck injury he picked up while batting in the first innings of the Kolkata Test against South Africa. The injury forced him to sit out of the second Test as well as the entire ODI series.
Taking advantage, the Proteas created history by defeating India in a Test series on Indian soil for the first time in 25 years. In the ODIs, India won the opening match in Ranchi, but South Africa bounced back in Raipur to level the series 1–1. The final ODI in Visakhapatnam will now decide the winner of the three-match contest.
Gill had also been named in India’s T20I squad for the five matches against South Africa, but his participation depended on clearing all fitness tests. He had to complete the required rehabilitation and skill-based Return To Play (RTP) protocols. Having successfully met every fitness requirement, Shubman Gill is all set to make his comeback in the T20Is.
